For so many years I felt like I had to choose — either be present at home with my family or chase after my career goals but I never believed that I could have both. I lived in the lie that balance couldn’t exist and that in order to be good at motherhood or business, I had to choose which one I wanted to prioritize. And taking care of myself? Well, that was nonexistent.
That is until one day, I decided to stop believing the lie and started to create the life that I always wanted to live. A life that was filled with a joyful, intentional motherhood journey but one that was also filled with goals and dreams outside of the home. Not only did I find my passion and purpose I found a love of encouraging women who desired the same. Bonus, I finally stopped neglecting myself in the process and created a balance between family, business and self.

HEY, THERE! I’M KATE…
I have blogged off and on for the past ten years taking a huge break while I pursued a career in full time ministry. When I faced severe burn out and a ton of unexplained health issues a couple years ago I decided to hang up my ministry hat and we moved back to FL in search of a simplified life with more boundaries and balance.
Also read, I had completely lost myself in motherhood and then in ministry and it was time for me to take a step back, find who I was outside of those roles and take control, creating a life I actually wanted to live with balance between motherhood & my dreams/goals.
Moving back to FL opened up the opportunity for me to pursue one of my greatest life’s dreams, being an entrepreneur - so in addition to blogging, I also opened an online women’s boutique, Rooted and Free combining my loves of community, clothes and connection!
Whether it be here through my blog, through the resources and digital products I create, my boutique or my passion for low(er)-tox living, my hope is to leave you feeling inspired to grab the reigns of your life and find the rhythms, balance and joy you deserve to have in your life.
